# App Roles

Similar to workspace roles, each user who is allowed to open an app is assigned to one of the follwing roles:

* *Editor*
  * enter the Edit mode of an app
  * open the **Share App** dialog of an app
  * all *Viewer* permissions
* *Viewer*
  * open the app in live mode

An Editor user is not allow to change his/her role to Viewer. This must be done by another user, if required.
